When are finalists and winners announced for Cable's Leaders in Learning Awards? Finalists will be announced in March of 2008. Winners will be notified in April 2008. Below are some other important dates. Wednesday, September 12, 2007: Online application window opens How do I change categories if I find that my project is a better fit elsewhere? If you start an application in the wrong category, save the application you started and then change the Award Category from the drop down menu on the application's first page. The page will re-load, however, the personal data you have entered to that point will remain saved. Will sending more reference letters make my application better? Sending more than two (2) reference letters will not enhance your application. Only the first two letters of reference received will be accepted regardless of the number sent. Reference letters and supplemental materials must be postmarked by January 16, 2008 at 12pm (noon) PST. Where do I send reference letters? Reference letter can be sent via email as an attachment to awards@ciconline.org or by mail to: Cable in the ClassroomReference letters may also be faxed to 202.222.2336 What is the correct form for reference letters? We will accept reference letters in any form, but prefer our template, as long as the letter states the author of the letter, the relationship with the applicant, and how long they have know them, etc. Will I receive confirmation that my supplemental materials have been received? Yes, if you indicated on your application that you would be sending supplemental materials. Who receives confirmation that my reference letters have been received? An email is sent to the applicant that the reference letter has been received. Who is eligible to apply for Cable's Leaders in Learning Awards? Please refer to the Eligibility section of our awards criteria page on the website. What happens after you send someone a recommendation to apply for the awards? An email is sent to the person you have recommended. Are projects begun but not completed by the deadline still eligible for submission? A project not completed is eligible for submission but the application must be completed online by the deadline to be considered for the Cable's Leaders in Learning Awards. Is there online help available during the application process? Yes, there are two ways to get help. Use the Contact Us form or send us an email directly. Please make sure your email is as comprehensive as you can make it and details exactly where you are having problems. Send the URL of the page you are referencing in order for us to recreate the problem or see where there is a misunderstanding. Be sure to include the applicant's name and award category and a phone number where we can reach you during the day. Is there an age requirement to apply for Cable’s Leaders in Learning Awards? Yes, applicants must be at least 21 years of age to apply. Can a group or pair of educators apply together for Cable’s Leaders in Learning Awards? Yes, however one applicant must be indicated on the application as the primary point of contact for the project. Within the application, emphasize that this is a team or partnership and more than one person is applying for the award. |
