Washington, DC - Leadership challenges facing education - including technological innovation and demographic shifts - and their implications on the teaching workforce will be the focus of a roundtable discussion sponsored by Cable in the Classroom, Time Warner Cable and The Weather Channel to be held Tuesday, June 5 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at NCTA's Washington headquarters, 25 Massachusetts Avenue, NW.
Dr. Tom Carroll, executive director of the National Commission on Teaching and America's Future, will kick off the event that will include award-winning educators from around the country.

Time Warner Cable's National Teacher Awards form the cornerstone of the company's commitment to education. They honor the creative use of cable content and technology in the classroom as effective learning tools. Over the 18-year history of the Awards close to 400 teachers throughout Time Warner Cable's service area have been recognized. Winners receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC, $2000 cash, a $3000 school technology grant and a Crystal Apple sculpture. One Champion Principal, recognized for his/her support of 21st Century teaching at the Awards event, also receives a $5000 school technology grant.
